Setting up your website template:

Step 1:
EDIT HEADER: | Click for more details
Edit the "logo.jpg" in the picts folder with your logo image. The header background HEX color can be found in the "corporatestyle.css" file. A "logo.PSD" file is located in the "extras" folder. The default font used is 26 points "Futura Lt BT Bold".

OPTIONAL PLAIN TEXT HEADER: To use the text header option, edit the "var logotype" in the "header.js" from "graphic" to "text". Edit the "Welcome" text for the "var LogoText" in the "header.js" with your site name.

Step 2:
EDIT COPYRIGHT: | Click for more details
Open the "copyright.js" file in Notepad or any text editor, and change the "Your Company" text with your website or company name. This will update the footer info on all pages. Edit all ".js" files with a text editor.

Step 3:
EDIT CONTACT INFO: | Click for more details
Open the "phone.js" file in Notepad or any text editor and change the company name, address, phone and fax number and e-mail address (edit the e-mail in 2 places). This will update the contact info on the contact.htm page.

Step 4:
EDIT SIDEBAR: | Click for more details
Open the "sidebar.js" file in Notepad or any text editor, and edit the text and links with your own text. You can also replace the 3 "sidebar-?.jpg" graphics. You will find the pictures in the "picts" folder. This file, when edited, will update all the pages except for the slideshow and image viewer.

Step 5:
EDIT THE CONTACT AND QUOTES FORM:

Click for current info on setting up the template forms.

Click for info on adding more fields to the forms.

Click for changing form sizes or colors.

If you want to use only e-mail on the contact page you can remove the contact form from the "contact.htm" between the comment tags.

Because of the complexity of setting up the quote form, there are notes in the "quotes.htm" to help you cut and paste to add new form fields. The form will work with most contact form scripts however you will need help files or a sample form from the script you intend to use. Most form elements work the same way from script to script, however the hidden values usually vary. You may want to consider editing the entire page in Notepad instead of a wysiwyg editor.

Step 6:
REPLACE THE GALLERY PICTURES: | Click for more details
The best way to setup the pictures in the gallery is not to actually edit the HTML pages and change the pictures on each individual page. The fastest way is to simply replace the pictures in the "gallery" folder with your own by overwriting the files that are in there now and using the same generic names.

In the "gallery" folder, replace the 18 "Fgallery" pictures with full size photos. Replace the 18 "gallery" pictures with your thumbnails. Full size gallery images are 750 x 500 pixels and thumbnails are 100 x 67 pixels, but you can make them any size that you prefer. There is info on the other pictures used at this site later in this document.

IMAGE VIEWER OPTIONS: | Click for more details
You can change some options for the gallery image viewer page (image-viewer.htm) by editing the pop-closeup.js in Notepad. Options include new browser window, or popup for the viewer.

Step 7:
REPLACE HOMEPAGE SLIDESHOW IMAGES (optional): | Click for more details
The homepage (index.html) includes a slideshow application called the "jQuery Cycle Plugin". In the "JQuery-Cycle" folder replace 5 images, "imageJQ-1.jpg" through "imageJQ-5.jpg". Make your images 720 x 150 pixels. This will update the homepage animation. Click the link above for details and options. Cycle set #1 is used on the homepage.

Step 8:
EDIT PAGES: | Software choices | Notepad Editing
Edit the text on all pages with your website information. You can use Expression Web, Frontpage, Dreamweaver, CoffeeCup, any wysiwyg HTML editor or a text editor like Notepad. Take care not to delete any of the HTML tags that surround the text. NOTE: You may not see the footer, header and sidebar in some software because they are .js include files so you can globably edit the menus, your e-mail and other info.

Step 9:
EDIT TITLES, DESCRIPTIONS AND KEYWORDS: | Click for more details
Open each of the pages and change the titles (at the very top of the page) and also the description and the keywords with details about your product or service. You can edit one page and copy and paste to the other pages. Be careful to only change what's inside the "" so you don't disturb the html code. Page titles are important so your site will get a good listing at Google or Bing and other search engines.

Step 10:
UPLOAD: | Click for more details
Upload the pages on to your hosting company's server using FTP software, or Windows Explorer, or your control panel. Be sure to upload the "picts" and "gallery" and "PDF" and "JQuery-Cycle" folders and all files in these folders.

Options:

SETTING UP THE SLIDESHOW PICTURES: | Click for more details
The slideshow is currently setup to display all pictures in the gallery folder. If you would like to add or remove pictures from the slideshow, open the slideshow.htm in Notepad and look for the "EDIT THIS AREA" note. PDF PAGE SETUP: | Click for more details
In the "PDF" folder, replace the "PDFsample1.pdf" through "PDFsample6.pdf" with your PDF files. Edit the "PDFgallery.htm" with info for your PDF files. Click link above for setup details.

FONTS: | Click for more details
You can edit your font colors and sizes by editing the "corporatestyle.css" with a text editor. You can also change the font sizes in the "corporatestyle.css" file. Change the "div, table" class px size to change the text copy on all pages. Change the "title" px size to change all the title sizes.

EDITING THE MENUS: | Click for more details
3 menus are included. You can change the names on the menu buttons like "about us" or "services" to other page names by editing the "menu.js" in Notepad. Only change the one instance of the name and not the name with the ".htm" after it. Whatever you change in the menu.js will change every page on the website. Keep the names short so they don't go outside the menu. You can add more pages by copying one button in the menu.js and pasting it right below the next. Be sure to back up your files before you edit them.

The "menu-footer.js" is the menu at the bottom of each page.

The menu used in the "image-viewer.htm" and "slideshow.htm" is named "menu-gallery.js". You can change and remove links in this menu file as well.

ADDING PAGES: | Click for more details | Add a Gallery
You can add pages to your website by copying and pasting any one of the pages and renaming it to whatever you need. You can then add links from the other pages or even add the page to the menu by opening the menu.js and copying and pasting one of the buttons below another. There are notes in the "menu.js" to help you add a button.

PICTURES: | Click for more details
You can replace the pictures with your own. Each page has it's own picture which is named according to the page it's on. You will find all pictures in the "picts" folder. Hover your mouse over any image to see the pixel size.

PAGE HEIGHTS:
So all your pages will maintain a standard height 3 "pageheight" classes are included in the .css file. Edit these classes in Notepad and you can change the height to any height you need. The following are the 3 classes:

.pageheight150 - For pages with a 150 pixel high banner.
.pageheight100 - For pages with a 100 pixel high banner.
.pageheight-Galviewers - For the image-viewer.htm and slideshow.htm
